Trabzon hosts 15th Culture, Art, and Ligarba Festival
The 15th Culture, Art, and Ligarba Festival was held at the Armutluk Recreation Area in the Demirciler neighborhood of Yomra, Trabzon. Organized by the Yomra Demirciler Village Culture and Development Association, the event brought together local residents, officials, and citizens living in various cities and abroad in Europe.
Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç attended the festival and emphasized the importance of preserving local traditions and cultural heritage for future generations. He highlighted the economic potential of ligarba, noting that the product can hold a higher economic value than hazelnuts. Genç stated that increasing the production of ligarba is essential for regional strength and called for the promotion of high-value alternative agricultural products.
