Trabzon Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç Opens TDED Trabzon Branch

The Turkey Language and Literature Association (TDED) held a launch event for its Trabzon branch, attended by local officials and cultural figures. Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç addressed the gathering, emphasizing the role of language as the memory and bridge of the nation’s culture, history, and civilization. He highlighted the responsibility to preserve Turkish for future generations.

TDED President Ekrem Erdem and Governor Tahir Şahin also spoke, stressing the importance of correct Turkish usage across society and the association’s plans to monitor language issues and propose solutions. The event featured representatives from municipal administrations, university rectors, and former parliamentarians, underscoring broad local support for the new cultural institution.
