Trabzon Mayor inspects infrastructure and fisheries research

Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç has been inspecting various local development projects, including transportation infrastructure and scientific research facilities.

In the Ortahisar district, Genç reviewed ongoing asphalt and roadwork in the Çukurçayır and Esentepe neighborhoods. The project involves a 650-meter stretch intended to improve connectivity to Kanuni Boulevard and major intersections. Officials reported that 400 meters of the asphalt laying are already complete, with the remaining 250 meters expected to be finished shortly following the completion of water and sewage infrastructure.

Additionally, Mayor Genç visited the Fisheries Research Institute, which operates under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. During the visit, he discussed the center’s role in protecting marine ecosystems and supporting the production of species such as Black Sea salmon and turbot. Genç highlighted the importance of scientific support for the region’s growing seafood export sector.
