Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality hosts science festival for village school students

The Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality’s Özdemir Bayraktar Science Center organized a science festival titled “Masters of Science Numbers” at Araklı Taştepe Primary School. The event was held as part of the TÜBİTAK 4009 Support Program for Village Schools.

Approximately 120 students participated in various workshops focused on mathematics, science, and technology. Activities included practical applications of mathematical thinking, problem-solving, and reasoning. Students explored the use of mathematical calculations and scientific methods in aviation and space through flight simulators and a tent planetarium. Additionally, wooden intelligence games were used to enhance cognitive skills. Project leader Esra Akyüz noted that the goal was to demonstrate how mathematical formulas and methods are used to solve everyday problems.
