Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality to build child-friendly library in Arsin

The Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality has signed a contract to transform an existing structure into a ‘Child-Friendly Central Library’ in the Arsin district. The project, valued at approximately 17.6 million TL, aims to foster early reading habits and support the educational and cultural development of children.

The renovation will include updating the building's exterior, windows, and doors, as well as modernizing interior spaces. The facility will feature specialized reading areas, play zones, and various workshops tailored to children's developmental needs. Additionally, the project includes the installation of new flooring, lighting, and a kitchen area, along with the creation of accessible restrooms. To ensure year-round functionality, the interior courtyard will be covered with sun-controlled tempered laminated glass.

Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç stated that the project is an investment in the future of children, emphasizing that early exposure to books and culture contributes significantly to their academic growth and personal development.
