Trabzon Municipality awards subsidized livestock to local farmers

The Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality announced a program to boost rural development and animal husbandry in the province. Under a protocol with the Agricultural Credit Cooperatives, the municipality will provide 20 pregnant Jersey‑breed cows to producers in the Tonya district, covering 90 % of the cost. The purchase auction for the cows is scheduled for the following day.

In addition, the municipality plans to distribute a total of 180 Karayaka sheep – five to each of 36 farmers – in the Maçka district. The subsidies aim to increase production capacity and raise the income of residents in these rural areas.
