Turkey's municipalities roll out transport subsidies, feed aid and infrastructure projects
Municipal governments in several Turkish provinces announced a range of local initiatives. Denizli Metropolitan Municipality extended a transport support scheme, providing bus cards with 44 rides per month to thousands of secondary‑school, apprenticeship and middle‑school students, and continued its animal‑feed programme delivering 32 989 bags of feed to 6 317 livestock producers across 19 districts.
Aydın Metropolitan Municipality reported ongoing road‑construction, maintenance and drainage works in all 17 districts, while Beylikdüzü district completed 4 594 tons of asphalt, 10 706 m² of pavement repairs and opened 433 m of new streets. Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality held a budget‑preparation training for finance officers and ran educational sessions for residents aged 65 and over.
Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality said its social‑service programmes had reached more than 400 000 people, delivering food cards, water‑bill subsidies, clothing, medical aids and employment support. Manisa’s mayor outlined dozens of infrastructure and cultural projects, including a 358 million TL road contract and new cultural‑center construction. Other municipal actions included a new garage project in Bursa, temporary closure of Karabük’s Kanyon Bridge for repairs, construction of three new fire stations in Tekirdağ, seizure and destruction of 230 expired food items in Mersin’s Akdeniz district, and an exhibition of hand‑made products by trainees in Edremit.
