Trabzon tourism surges as Uzbekistan visitor numbers double

Tourism between Trabzon and Uzbekistan has seen a significant surge, with visitor numbers increasing by 101 percent during the first eight months of the year. Tamer Erdoğan, the Trabzon Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism, announced that the high demand has led to plans for expanding flight capacity.

For the upcoming season, the number of weekly flights is set to increase from two to three. The flight schedule will also be extended, with services expected to run from the first week of May through the last week of October. Additionally, officials have contacted Turkish Airlines (THY) to request the establishment of scheduled flights that would operate year-round to ensure sustainable connectivity between the two regions.
