Trabzonspor manager Fatih Tekke prepares for first European match

Trabzonspor manager Fatih Tekke is preparing for his first official European match as a coach in a UEFA Europa League play-off against Ferencvaros on August 20. Tekke, who previously won the UEFA Cup and UEFA Super Cup as a player with Zenit St. Petersburg, led Trabzonspor to a third-place finish in the Trendyol Super Lig and a Ziraat Turkish Cup victory during the 2025-2026 season.

Due to the dense fixture schedule involving European play-offs, major Turkish clubs Trabzonspor, Fenerbahçe, and Beşiktaş are preparing to submit a joint request to the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) to postpone their upcoming Trendyol Super Lig second-week matches. Trabzonspor seeks to postpone its match against Başakşehir, Fenerbahçe its match against Konyaspor, and Beşiktaş its match against Alanyaspor to allow players to focus on their critical European qualification matches.

Tickets for the Trabzonspor vs. Ferencvaros match at Papara Park have been released, with prices ranging from 1,500 TL to 25,000 TL for VIP sections. The match will be officiated by Croatian referee Igor Pajac.
