Trabzonspor eliminated from Europa League after loss to Ferencvaros

Trabzonspor suffered a significant defeat in their Europa League qualification campaign, losing 4-0 to Ferencvaros at the Groupama Arena in Budapest. Following a 1-0 loss in the first leg, the Turkish club was eliminated with a 5-0 aggregate score, resulting in a move to the Europa Conference League. The match was marked by disciplinary issues, including two red cards for Trabzonspor.

The club is currently facing internal instability following the departure of coach Fatih Tekke. Despite reports in the Turkish press suggesting that star player Mohamed Salah is frustrated by the team's performance and coaching changes, Trabzonspor chairman Ertugrul Dogan has denied these claims. Dogan stated that Salah is “very happy” and praised his professionalism, noting he is often the first to arrive at training and the last to leave. The club has appointed German coach Thomas Reis to lead the team moving forward.
