Trabzonspor leadership criticizes Turkish Football Federation
Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan and club officials have expressed growing dissatisfaction with the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) under President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu. During the club’s 61st Ordinary Divan General Assembly, leadership called for unity and vowed to protect the club’s rights against perceived injustices.
Club representatives highlighted several points of contention, including controversial referee decisions and disciplinary applications that they claim have disproportionately harmed Trabzonspor. Specific grievances mentioned include a disputed penalty in a match against Amed Sportif Faaliyetler and a disallowed goal by Paul Onuachu in a match against Fenerbahçe.
Osman Çavuşoğlu, speaking on behalf of the Divan Presidency Board, questioned the legal and institutional implications of the TFF’s decision to take PFDK rulings to the Arbitration Board. He emphasized the need for justice, trust, and equality in football, stating that law must be applied equally to all clubs and individuals. Divan Board President Mahmut Ören also expressed support for Doğan, asserting that the club cannot be undermined by daily controversies.
