Thomas Reis joins Trabzonspor as new head coach
Trabzonspor has appointed German manager Thomas Reis as their new head coach following the departure of Fatih Tekke. Reis, 52, arrived in Trabzon via private jet after reaching a principle agreement with the club.
To secure Reis, who was managing the Bulgarian side Ludogorets, Trabzonspor reportedly agreed to pay a release clause of approximately 1 million euros. The appointment follows unsuccessful negotiations with other candidates, including Stefano Pioli.
Reis brings significant experience to the Turkish Süper Lig, having previously led Samsunspor to a third-place finish and European qualification. His debut is expected to be a high-stakes match against Galatasaray.
