Trabzonspor plans post-retirement roles for Stefan Savic
Trabzonspor management has decided not to extend the contract of 35-year-old defender Stefan Savic beyond the current season. While he will not be part of the first-team squad next season, the club is planning to retain him in a professional capacity following his retirement.
Savic is currently pursuing his UEFA A License to begin a coaching career. Trabzonspor is considering roles for him as a defensive coach or assistant coach, specifically focusing on defensive organization and set pieces. Additionally, the club aims to utilize his international connections from his time at clubs like Manchester City and Atlético Madrid by appointing him as a European scouting representative.
On the international stage, Savic recently delivered a strong performance for Montenegro in a 2-1 victory against Cyprus. During the match, he maintained a 90% pass accuracy, won 66% of his duels, and contributed to the team's transition play by winning five loose balls.
