Trabzonspor signs Belgian forward René Mitongo on three‑year deal

Turkish Süper Lig side Trabzonspor announced the permanent transfer of 18‑year‑old Belgian striker René Mitongo Muteba from Standard Liège. The clubs agreed on a €3 million release fee, payable in three installments, and a clause that awards Standard a share of any future transfer fee (reported as 15% of the net amount after the €3 million is recouped). Mitongo signed a 4+1‑year contract with an annual guaranteed salary of €675 000, rising to €780 000 if the optional fifth year is exercised.

The club’s technical director Fatih Tekke was credited with identifying the forward, and Mitongo said he chose Trabzonspor to develop under its youth‑development programme and to learn from experienced striker Paul Onuachu. The move brings Trabzonspor’s summer signing tally to ten, reinforcing their attack ahead of the new season.
