Trabzonspor signs Franculino Dju from Midtjylland for 17 million euros

Trabzonspor has completed the record-breaking transfer of 22-year-old Guinea-Bissau striker Franculino Dju from Danish club FC Midtjylland. The deal, finalized just before the UEFA squad registration deadline, involves a transfer fee of 17 million euros, which will be paid in eight equal installments over five years. The agreement also includes a 15% sell-on clause for Midtjylland.

Dju, a former Benfica academy player, is set to receive a guaranteed annual salary of 2.125 million euros. The transfer marks a significant move for Trabzonspor, as Dju reunites with former Midtjylland teammate Aral Şimşir. The young forward, known for his athleticism and finishing ability, has already been included in the club's UEFA Conference League squad list.

The acquisition is part of a broader recruitment strategy under President Ertuğrul Doğan, who has overseen 39 foreign player transfers during his tenure. While the club also pursued Brazilian striker Richarlison, the Dju deal was finalized as a primary offensive reinforcement.
