Trachtenkapelle Elters celebrates 100th anniversary

The Trachtenkapelle Elters, a traditional music ensemble from the Hofbieber district of Elters, is celebrating its 100th anniversary. The milestone was marked by a traditional barrel tapping ceremony and musical performances featuring the ensemble ‘Die Chiottini’ from their Italian partner community.

Since its founding in 1926, the group has become a cultural ambassador for the Rhön region, known for performing in traditional Rhön peasant attire. Over the past century, the ensemble has expanded its reach from local festivals to international stages, including performances at the Munich Oktoberfest, various Hessentage, and concert tours across Europe, the Americas, and Tahiti.
