Tractocamión incendios cause traffic disruptions in Colombia and Mexico

A semi-truck fire caused significant traffic disruptions in two separate incidents on October 24, 2026.

In Calarcá, Quindío, a truck collided with the Helicoidal bridge on the La Línea highway, a vital corridor connecting central Colombia to the Pacific ports. The accident produced a large column of smoke and forced the closure of the road, leaving cargo and private vehicles stranded while emergency services worked to control the flames. No official report on injuries has been released, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

In Los Mochis, Sinaloa, a truck caught fire due to a short circuit while traveling along Canuto Ibarra Boulevard. Municipal transit officers used extinguishers to suppress the flames before they could reach the trailer's cargo, which contained cardboard. The incident caused temporary traffic interruptions before the vehicle was removed by a crane.
