Tractor and Esteghlal face off for league leadership

The Iranian Premier League resumes its eighth week following a 25-day hiatus caused by FIFA international breaks and youth team competitions. A central fixture of the week features Tractor facing Esteghlal at the Yadgar Emam Stadium in Tabriz.

The match carries significant implications for the league standings. Tractor currently leads the table with 16 points, while an undefeated Esteghlal follows closely in second place with 15 points. The winner of this encounter is set to claim the top position in the standings.

Additional storylines surround the teams, including Tractor manager Javad Nekounam facing his former club, Esteghlal. There is also focus on goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand, whose availability remains a subject of discussion due to ongoing military service documentation and medical exemption processes.
