Tractor driver Mirko Saraceni killed in fatal car collision in Alfonsine, Italy

On the night of 22–23 July, 46‑year‑old Mirko “Mitch” Saraceni, a tractor driver from Bizzuno, was killed in a head‑on collision on via Stroppata in Alfonsine, Ravenna province. Saraceni was driving a Fiat Punto GT when he struck a Mini Cooper driven by a 24‑year‑old woman; the two vehicles left the road and fell into a ditch.

The young woman was taken to Santa Maria delle Croci hospital with minor injuries. Emergency responders – two ambulances, a medicalized rescue vehicle, fire‑brigade units and carabinieri – arrived quickly, but Saraceni was declared dead at the scene. Police are investigating the crash dynamics, and the road section was closed for rescue operations and vehicle removal. The incident has deeply affected the local community, which already experienced previous family tragedies.
