Trade Republic expands services to German corporations
Berlin-based fintech Trade Republic has launched a new service called the ‘Private Holding Account,’ allowing German corporations such as GmbHs and UGs to invest their assets through the platform. The offering is specifically designed for customers who are the sole owners or shareholders of their companies.
Through this account, users can invest in stocks, ETFs, bonds, and private markets. The platform offers savings plans without execution fees and allows individual orders starting at one euro. For transactions via the company’s ‘Best Price’ service, a flat fee of one euro applies, while direct orders through connected exchanges like Nasdaq, Xetra, or Euronext incur a two-euro fee.
To address uninvested corporate cash, Trade Republic provides a 2.5 percent interest rate on balances with no upper limit. Unlike personal accounts, corporate cash balances are held exclusively in money market funds. Co-founder Christian Hecker noted that billions in German holding companies currently generate minimal returns, and this service aims to provide better investment incentives.
