Andean region sees growth in dairy, biscuit, and mango exports
Bolivia is seeing growth in its dairy and food exports. Dairy exports reached $11 million in the first half of 2026, with Colombia and Peru serving as the primary markets. Additionally, Bolivian sweet biscuit exports, which totaled $2.3 million in 2025, are expanding into new regional markets such as Brazil, Argentina, and Chile after a heavy concentration in Peru.
In Ecuador, the 2026-2027 mango export season has begun earlier than usual with an initial shipment of over 20 tons to Canada. However, experts warn that climatic conditions related to El Niño could lead to a significant reduction in total production volume, potentially dropping by as much as 40%.
Overall, the Andean Community (CAN) reported a strong performance in 2025, with total exports reaching $187,461 million, an 11.5% increase from the previous year. China has emerged as the leading destination for the bloc's goods, accounting for 22.1% of total sales.
