Trader Joe's introduces new French and Basque-style frozen desserts

Trader Joe's has introduced two new specialty dessert items to its freezer section. The first is a limited-time offering of cannelés, a traditional French pastry from the Bordeaux region. These frozen treats, priced at $5.49 for a pack of four, feature a caramelized exterior and a custardy center with vanilla and rum flavors. They are expected to be available through May.

The second new item is a Basque-style cheesecake, inspired by recipes from the Basque region of Spain. These crustless cheesecakes are characterized by a dark, burnished top and a creamy texture. A 5.63-ounce package containing two cheesecakes is priced at $4.99. While some consumers have praised the flavor on social media, others have noted the small portion size relative to the cost.
