Tradición Copera tournament sees team withdrawals and new signings

The Tradición Copera tournament, organized by the Liga Nacional de Fútbol Aficionado (LINFA), is undergoing roster changes following the withdrawal of several clubs. Notably, Domingo Dianderas FC, a team from Chincha associated with comedian Jorge Luna, has withdrawn from the competition. While no official reason was provided, the club is currently focused on the Copa Perú 2026, where they have secured a place in the second phase of the national stage.

Other teams including Walter Ormeño, Defensor Lima, Ciclista Lima FC, and FC Sport River de Florencio de Mora have also withdrawn. To fill these vacancies, LINFA has added Chosica FC and Barranco City to the tournament. The inaugural edition will feature 24 teams divided into four groups.

In preparation for the tournament, which runs from October 24, 2026, to February 28, 2027, Club Social Deportivo Maristas has announced six new players: Axel Miranda, David Monserrat, Kevin Taipe, Jhair Orellana, Alec Garrigue, and Gianfranco Lucero. Maristas, placed in Group 2, is also led by new director technical Alejandro Raymi.
