Traditional and modern makeup techniques for facial enhancement
Makeup professionals and traditional beauty rituals offer various methods to enhance facial features. Makeup artist Andrea Curto suggests the “lateral depth” technique to address drooping eyelids. This method uses two shades of eyeshadow—one light and one dark—applied strategically to create a lifting effect and a more elegant look without requiring expensive products.
In Morocco, the traditional pigment known as aker fassi is used to achieve a natural, healthy glow. Originating from Fez, this red pigment is traditionally crafted from dried poppy petals and sometimes ground pomegranate peel. When moistened, it can be applied to the lips and cheeks to provide a fresh, customizable tint.
