European Heritage Days 2026 feature diverse cultural programming

Various European regions are preparing for the 2026 European Heritage Days, featuring a wide array of cultural activities, site openings, and special programming.

In France, festivities include exceptional openings at the École nationale des greffes in Dijon, the judicial court in Narbonne, and several historic châteaux such as Rambouillet, Vincennes, and Launaguet. Local initiatives include discounted TER train tickets in Hauts-de-France and heritage walks in Bordeaux focused on colonial history. Other regional events feature paper art demonstrations at Château de Vianden in Luxembourg, ceramic exhibitions at Château de Quintin, and musical performances in Bergères-sous-Montmirail.

In Belgium, Urban Brussels is organizing over 270 activities, including exclusive access to church panoramas and secret modernist gardens. Wallonia also celebrates with free access to museums and guided tours at the Hôpital Notre-Dame à la Rose. Additional local festivities include community markets, festivals, and charity equestrian shows in various French towns.
