Traditional festivals and honey awards held in Slovenia

Various traditional events took place in Slovenia during mid-September 2026. In Mengeš, the 31st Mihaelov sejem was held, serving as a regional gathering for music, dance, and traditional crafts. The event featured local artisans demonstrating skills such as basket weaving, blacksmithing, and woodcarving, alongside a variety of local food and textile products.

In Lesce, the Gorenjska Beekeeping Association hosted the Honey Festival. The event included culinary tastings, workshops, and a sensory evaluation of honey samples. Čebelarstvo Kimovec from Šenčur was named the overall champion for its chestnut honey. Other category winners included Boris Komac for floral honey, Roman Mur for forest honey, and Janez Klemenčič for linden honey.
