Traditional Greek villages Lambia and Agios Lavrenios offer scenic escapes

Greece features several traditional mountain villages that offer quiet retreats and historical architecture. In the Peloponnese, Lambia (also known as Divry) is located in mountainous Ilia on the slopes of Erymanthos at an altitude of approximately 900 meters. The village is characterized by stone houses, wooden balconies, and narrow alleys. Nearby landmarks include the 17th-century Chrysopegi Monastery of Ano Divry and the Klombokis stone bridge.

In the Pelion region, Agios Lavrenios serves as a destination known for its stone mansions, historic churches, and traditional square. Situated at an altitude of about 600 meters on the southern slopes overlooking the Pagasetic Gulf, the village is surrounded by chestnut groves and plane trees. It offers a more tranquil alternative to the more crowded villages of the mountain range.
