Traditional opera performances held in Dongyin and Pingtung

Traditional opera performances have taken place in Dongyin and Pingtung, highlighting regional cultural heritage. In Dongyin, the Fuzhou-style Min Opera troupe from Mawei District performed the classic play ‘Longtai Fuma’. This event marked the first time such a professional performance had returned to the island in 17 years, coinciding with the Double Ninth Festival to provide cultural engagement for elderly residents and younger generations.

In Pingtung, the Ming Hwa Yuan Drama & Musical Troupe is scheduled to perform the classic Gezaixi opera ‘Li Jing Slaying the Dragon’ at Pingtung County Citizens' Park. Led by Sun Tsui-feng, the production aims to blend traditional artistry with modern stage elements, including updated lighting and visual effects. The event is designed to promote generational succession by featuring both veteran performers and rising talents alongside a local market.
