Traditional religious festivals held in Odemira and Perrães

Various traditional religious and cultural festivals were recently held in Portugal. In Odemira, the community celebrated the Festas em Honra de Nossa Senhora da Piedade. The event, supported by the local municipality and parishes, featured a diverse program including flamenco shows, circus theater, concerts, and street entertainment. The festivities culminated on September 8, marking the Municipal Holiday and Odemira Municipality Day with solemn masses, processions, and a traditional helmet blessing.

In Perrães, located in the Águeda municipality, the Festas em Honra de Nossa Senhora das Febres took place from September 3 to September 8. The celebrations combined religious ceremonies, such as the Candle Procession and Eucharist, with musical performances from various bands and folklore groups. The program included samba, orchestral music, and traditional folk dances, concluding with a fireworks display and the handover of the festival branch to the new festival commission.
