Traditional religious festivals held in Terlizzi and Savelletri

Various traditional religious festivals are taking place in the Puglia region of Italy on Sunday, August 9.

In Terlizzi, the town is celebrating its Festa Maggiore. The event features the solemn procession of the Triumphant Chariot, accompanied by the Sacred Icon of Maria SS. di Sovereto and San Michele Arcangelo. The celebration includes several masses at the Concattedrale and a procession through the city streets, presided over by Bishop Domenico Basile. The festivities include musical performances by local bands and a traditional gathering of children on the chariot.

In Savelletri, festivities are held in honor of the patron saint, San Francesco da Paola. The program includes a traditional sea procession followed by a mass at the port area. The evening's cultural program features a comedy performance by Uccio De Santis and will conclude with a fireworks display at midnight.
