Traditional Rulers Endorse Candidates in Kogi and Osun Ahead of 2026 Vote
In Kogi West senatorial district, traditional rulers and youth leaders commended President Bola Tinubu and Governor Usman Ododo for recent security gains, citing the death of suspected bandit leader Batijo, and announced their support for APC senatorial candidate Hon. Sam Aro Bemidele. The groups pledged continued collaboration with security agencies and highlighted the role of state security adviser Jerry Omodara.
In Osun State, monarchs from Odo‑Otin and Ifelodun LGAs praised ADC governorship candidate Dr. Najeem Salaam, describing his manifesto as a practical blueprint for governance. They highlighted his promises to integrate traditional institutions into the security framework, improve education, health, power supply and boost agriculture, and pledged to work with his administration if elected.
Both sets of traditional leaders emphasised community‑based approaches to security and development ahead of the 2026 elections.
