Traditional street markets in Madrid and Sevilla offer diverse goods
Spain hosts several prominent traditional street markets that serve as significant cultural and commercial hubs. In Madrid, El Rastro has operated for over 250 years. Located in the Embajadores neighborhood, the market features approximately 1,200 stalls selling antiques, books, clothing, and curiosities. The market's history is linked to the area's former slaughterhouses and tanneries, and it operates every Sunday and holiday from 9:00 to 15:00.
In the province of Sevilla, the Carmona market offers a different weekly experience. Held every Monday at the Carmona fairgrounds, this market consists of about one hundred stalls. It provides a wide variety of goods, including vintage clothing, footwear, furniture, ceramics, and crafts, as well as fresh produce and food items. The market is open from 8:00 to 14:00, except on holidays.
