Trae Young discusses challenges during Atlanta Hawks tenure

NBA guard Trae Young has reflected on his tenure with the Atlanta Hawks, citing a lack of supporting talent as a primary reason for the team's inability to achieve sustained success. During a recent podcast appearance, Young noted that he struggled to find teammates capable of drawing double teams, which impacted his ability to facilitate the offense.

Young also highlighted the differing organizational contexts between his time in Atlanta and his current situation with the Washington Wizards. He observed that while the Hawks faced immediate pressure to compete for high playoff positioning, the Wizards are operating within a rebuilding framework that allows for more long-term identity construction. This shift in environment may provide a more stable structure for his style of play.
