Traefik SSL and ACME protocol implementation

Technical documentation details the implementation of SSL certificates within Traefik using the ACME protocol. By configuring Let’s Encrypt as the Certificate Authority and Cloudflare as the DNS provider, users can automate certificate issuance and renewals for various services, including Docker containers and internal dashboards.

To better understand the underlying ACME flow and API interactions between Traefik, Let’s Encrypt, and Cloudflare, traffic can be redirected through a BurpSuite proxy. This process aligns with the RFC 8555 specification. Additionally, following the migration from Traefik v1 to v2, adjustments to certificate export scripts are necessary due to changes in the ACME storage formats used by the software.
