Traffic accidents and hit-and-run reported in Graz and Basel

Two separate traffic incidents resulted in injuries in Graz, Austria. In the Gries district, a 32-year-old pedestrian was struck by a car while attempting to cross Rösselmühlgasse outside of a designated crossing. The driver, a 39-year-old from Bosnia and Herzegovina, attempted an emergency brake but could not avoid the collision. The pedestrian was hospitalized at LKH Graz. In the Lend district, a 25-year-old e-bike rider sustained serious leg injuries following a collision with a 54-year-old driver during a turning maneuver on Kalvariengürtel. Police confirmed that no alcohol was involved in either Graz accident.

In Basel, Switzerland, police are searching for a cyclist who fled the scene of a collision in Leuengasse. A woman pulling a small child in a trailer collided with another cyclist who failed to yield the right of way. The second cyclist was injured in the fall, but the woman with the child fled the scene without providing assistance. The Basel-Stadt Cantonal Police are requesting witnesses to contact them regarding the incident.
