Traffic accidents in Girne and Ercan-İskele lead to arrest and injury
Two significant traffic accidents occurred in Girne and on the Ercan-İskele main road. In Girne, Furkan Konca was arrested after colliding with a vehicle driven by Sena Kutgi while operating under the influence of alcohol (120 mg/l). No injuries were reported in that specific incident.
On the Ercan-İskele road, Dominic Agwa Gbuuga lost control of his vehicle, causing it to roll over after hitting a pile of debris. Gbuuga was injured and taken to Lefkoşa Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital for treatment. The accident also caused damage to three vehicles at the SSY Motors gallery due to flying debris.
In a separate nationwide effort, traffic police conducted inspections of 2,489 drivers. These checks resulted in 336 reported violations, including speeding and driving under the influence, and the removal of 20 vehicles from the road.
