Traffic accidents in Kagbelen and Engongome cause fatalities and injuries
Two separate fatal or injurious traffic accidents occurred in Kagbelen and Engongome.
In Kagbelen-Village, a large truck reportedly lost control of its brakes, striking seven vehicles. The collision resulted in approximately twenty injuries and significant material damage. Local Red Cross responders transported the injured to the Dubréka prefectural hospital. The incident caused major traffic congestion on the heavily used route.
In Engongome, located on National Road 1 between Ndjolé and Lalara, a Toyota Land Cruiser veered off the road following a hazardous overtaking maneuver. The vehicle struck a tree, resulting in the immediate deaths of two occupants, Niels Ngoua-Sallah and driver Steve Savy Koupangoye. A third occupant sustained serious injuries and was transferred to a university hospital in Libreville for intensive care.
