Traffic accidents in Ostrava and Hraběšice result in fatality and injuries

Multiple traffic accidents have been reported in the Czech Republic. In Ostrava, a 60-year-old pedestrian died after being struck by a Škoda Superb on Rudná Street. The incident occurred near the intersection with Vratimovská Street, where the driver reportedly failed to see the pedestrian using a marked crosswalk. Despite resuscitation efforts by witnesses and emergency medical services, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

In the Šumperk region, a 26-year-old driver in a Citroen C4 lost control of his vehicle while traveling at high speed near Hraběšice. The car left the road, struck several concrete posts, and came to a halt against a bridge railing. The driver, who was hospitalized with injuries, refused a breathalyzer test. Preliminary damages from this accident are estimated at 300,000 CZK.
