Traffic accidents in Taiwan involve container truck and McLaren supercar
Two separate traffic accidents occurred in Taiwan involving heavy vehicles and high-end automobiles.
In New Taipei City's Tucheng District, a container truck collided with a sedan at the intersection of Chenglin Road and Asia Road around 11:00 PM on the 14th. The collision, which occurred during a green light, resulted in the sedan being crushed against a roadside signal facility, causing significant vehicle deformation and a broken windshield. The 35-year-old female driver sustained waist injuries. Police have issued a citation for traffic violations to the 41-year-old truck driver and are investigating the exact circumstances.
In Taipei City's Wenshan District, a rental McLaren 720S Spider collided with a motorcycle at the intersection of Xinglong Road Section 3. The 64-year-old driver of the supercar was attempting a U-turn when the vehicle struck a 45-year-old motorcyclist traveling straight. The motorcyclist sustained abrasions to the limbs. Alcohol tests for both parties returned a result of 0. Police are processing the incident as a standard traffic accident and have reminded drivers to yield to straight-moving traffic when turning.
