Traffic accidents in Tamsui and Sanchong involve signal violations

Two separate traffic accidents involving signal violations have been reported in Taiwan.

In Tamsui, a 24-year-old female motorcyclist is suspected of running a red light and colliding with a 75-year-old man using a medical electric mobility scooter. The man was crossing a pedestrian walkway when the collision occurred, resulting in a head laceration. Both parties were treated at Tamsui MacKay Memorial Hospital and are reported to be in stable condition. Police are issuing citations for running a red light and failing to yield to pedestrians.

In Sanchong, a 19-year-old female motorcyclist was injured after colliding with an electric bicycle rider who allegedly ran a red light while exiting an alley. Following the collision, the bicycle rider reportedly left the scene without checking on the victim's condition. Police are reviewing surveillance footage to identify the rider and determine if legal action regarding the hit-and-run will be pursued.
