Traffic accidents in Yuen Long and Bali result in injuries and one fatality

Two separate traffic accidents occurred on the night of October 27, resulting in injuries and one death.

In Yuen Long, a collision occurred at the intersection of Ma Tin Road and Education Road around 10:00 PM involving a private car and a Foodpanda delivery motorcycle. The non-Chinese delivery rider sustained abrasions to the hands and feet and was transported to Pok Oi Hospital while conscious. Witnesses suggested the accident might have been caused by a failure to yield at the junction.

In Bali, a violent collision took place at the intersection of Longxing 5th Street and Longmi Road around 11:00 PM. A motorcyclist attempting a left turn collided with an oncoming vehicle traveling toward Guandu Bridge. The 44-year-old driver of the oncoming vehicle was pronounced dead at Tamsui MacKay Memorial Hospital despite emergency efforts. The 27-year-old motorcyclist sustained facial injuries, fractures, and internal bleeding and remains under medical care. Police are investigating whether the left-turning rider failed to yield to oncoming traffic and are awaiting alcohol testing results.
