Traffic accidents reported on highways in Yucatán

Multiple traffic accidents have been reported on federal highways in the Yucatán region, causing vehicle damage and requiring emergency intervention.

On the Mérida–Celestún highway, a Nissan NP300 overturned near Kinchil after the driver performed an evasive maneuver to avoid a head-on collision with a vehicle encroaching on the opposite lane. Both occupants of the truck escaped without needing hospital transport, though the vehicle sustained significant damage.

In eastern Yucatán, a multi-vehicle pileup occurred on the highway connecting Tikuch and Chemax near Valladolid. The chain-reaction collision resulted in extensive structural damage to several vehicles. Emergency responders, including paramedics and firefighters, provided medical triage and transported injured individuals to hospitals in Valladolid. Authorities are investigating the cause, noting speed and road conditions as potential factors.
