Traffic and infrastructure changes announced in Lublin and Toruń
Significant changes to traffic regulations and infrastructure are being implemented in Lublin and Toruń.
In Lublin, starting September 1, 2026, a traffic zone will be introduced at the University Clinical Hospital No. 4 near Jaczewskiego and Chodźki streets. This designation will grant the Police and Municipal Guard full authority to enforce traffic laws on internal roads, including issuing fines for violations such as failure to yield or not wearing seatbelts. Authorities will also have the power to tow vehicles parked illegally or those obstructing emergency vehicle access. Drivers must ensure they leave at least 1.5 meters of sidewalk width for pedestrians.
In Toruń, the reconstruction of Krasińskiego Street, costing over 1 million PLN, has been completed. The project included new asphalt, sidewalks, drainage systems, and stylized street lighting on the section between Reja and Kochanowskiego streets. As a result of the renovation, the street has transitioned to one-way traffic, and parking is now restricted to the north side of the roadway to accommodate a wider pedestrian zone on the south side.
