Traffic and parking issues reported in Athens and Keratsini

Various traffic and parking issues have recently drawn attention in Greece. In central Athens, a specific road sign, designated as Pr-15a, has caused confusion among drivers. The sign, which indicates a ‘leftward U-turn’ (ανακάμπτων ελιγμός αριστερά), is used on Vasilissis Amalias Avenue to allow access to the Plaka area without requiring drivers to circle through Syntagma. While the sign is a legitimate part of the Greek Highway Code, its unusual appearance has led to driver confusion and reported fines.

In a separate incident in Keratsini, a parking situation captured by Google Street View went viral on social media. A white Smart fortwo was found completely boxed in by a red Toyota HiAce and a Toyota Auris, leaving the smaller vehicle with no way to exit. The image sparked significant discussion on Facebook regarding improper parking habits and the lack of adherence to basic traffic rules.
