Traffic and service disruptions reported in Lüneburg region

Several local events and technical issues are affecting traffic and digital services in the Lüneburg region of Germany.

In Amelinghausen, significant traffic restrictions are expected on Sunday, August 23, 2026, due to the closing festivities of the Heideblütenfest. A large parade is anticipated, leading police to implement full closures of Bundesstraße 209 within the town center from approximately 15:00 to 20:00. Long-distance traffic will be diverted around the area. To assist visitors, a free shuttle bus service will operate between the Kronsbergheide parking lot and the festival grounds.

In Lüneburg, a vow ceremony scheduled for Friday, August 21, 2026, will result in road closures around the Marktplatz from 06:00 to 14:00, with bus diversions in place throughout the day. Additionally, the city's 'Allris 4' citizen information system is experiencing technical disruptions. While the issue is limited to the public-facing portal, officials suggest refreshing web browsers as a temporary workaround while the external provider works on a fix.
