Traffic changes and high vehicle volume reported on Brazilian highways

The National Department of Transport Infrastructure (DNIT) has announced overnight traffic changes on the BR-280 highway in Santa Catarina. Between Sunday, November 1, and Tuesday, November 3, a stop-and-go system will be implemented at km 7 in São Francisco do Sul and km 23 in Araquari. These interventions, scheduled from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, involve milling and pavement reconstruction. Services may be suspended in the event of unfavorable weather.

In Rio Grande do Sul, the Freeway (BR-290) experienced heavy traffic during the All Souls' Day holiday weekend. On Saturday, October 31, more than 86,000 vehicles traveled toward the North Coast. The concessionaire CCR ViaSul expects continued high volumes through Monday, with tens of thousands of vehicles projected to pass through the Gravataí and Santo Antônio da Patrulha toll plazas during both outbound and return trips.
