Traffic disruptions and highway expansion plans in Bosnia and Croatia

Drivers exiting Bosnia and Herzegovina are being urged to proceed with caution due to heavy rain, wind and ongoing road works on several highway sections, including the A‑1 Kakanj‑Lašva stretch and other major routes. Temporary traffic arrangements and delays of up to 30 minutes have been reported at border crossings.

In Croatia, Hrvatske autoceste (HAC) announced a pre‑consultation with interested businesses for the reconstruction and addition of a third lane on the Zagreb‑Karlovac section of the A1 highway. The project, valued at €248 million, will also include new interchanges, overpasses and a reconstruction of the Jastrebarsko interchange, with works slated to begin in 2027.
