Traffic disruptions in Mainz and infrastructure delays in Bad Kreuznach

In Bad Kreuznach, the city council has postponed a decision regarding a €55,000 traffic study for a potential connecting road at the Bauhaus-Kreisel. The proposed road aims to improve access to the industrial area and relieve congestion on the Bosenheimer Kreisel and Gensinger Straße. While local businesses have offered to help fund the study, officials are still weighing whether to implement a full-scale road or a one-way solution. Additionally, the council approved €1.6 million for the digitalization of local primary schools, with the state covering 40% of the costs.

Meanwhile, in Mainz, significant traffic disruptions have occurred due to a partial closure of the Schiersteiner Brücke. The closure, affecting the A643 between Wiesbaden-Äppelallee and the Schierstein motorway junction, has caused heavy congestion on major arteries including Rheinallee and Kaiserstraße. The disruption is linked to repairs on a temporary bridge used during the construction of a new bridge. Police and the Autobahn GmbH have advised motorists to bypass the area via the Mainz Ring and Mainzspitzdreieck to avoid delays.
