Traffic disruptions reported in Asunción and Guatemala City

Traffic disruptions are affecting major urban areas in Paraguay and Guatemala due to separate incidents.

In Asunción, Paraguay, the Municipal Transit Police have implemented a one-way traffic system on Avenida Artigas, running from Perú to General Santos. This measure, announced by Director Rodrigo Del Valle, aims to alleviate congestion caused by the Skate World Games. The change provides four lanes in a single direction to facilitate city exits, while the Costanera remains partially blocked during event hours.

In Guatemala City, Guatemala, a heavy vehicle fire has caused significant delays. A trailer transporting fuel experienced a tire fire due to brake system overheating near the Hipódromo del Norte. The Municipal Transit Police reported that congestion extends from the Atlantic route in Zone 18 through Zone 2. Emergency services have controlled the fire, and authorities are working to relocate the vehicle to clear the lanes.
