Infrastructure works and natural disasters disrupt regional traffic

Various regions are experiencing significant traffic disruptions due to infrastructure projects and natural disasters.

In Querétaro, Mexico, the implementation of contraflow lanes on Bernardo Quintana Boulevard—intended to mitigate impacts from the Mexico-Querétaro Train construction—has altered traffic patterns. On the first business day of operation, South-North traffic increased by 20%, while North-South traffic decreased by 30%. Authorities report that the new scheme has caused delays of up to 20 minutes, prompting the Querétaro Mobility Agency to analyze potential adjustments.

In Colombia, recovery efforts continue following a 7.4 magnitude earthquake. The government has declared a national disaster as search and rescue operations proceed. Mobility remains severely impacted by landslides and structural damage, with total road closures reported in several departments, including Valle del Cauca, Caldas, Tolima, and Quindío.

Other localized infrastructure works include a pedestrian tunnel construction in Barranquilla, Colombia, causing road closures on Avenida Circunvalar, and various road maintenance and drainage projects in Argentina and Ecuador.
